Priority Action Areas
FODCAP’s work is shaped by local people and groups, and what they need to take fair and urgent action across the Forest of Dean. Our priority action areas have emerged from collaboration between communities, businesses, councils, and local organisations.
Together, we identify existing work, spot the gaps, and connect people and projects to speed up a fair, joined-up transition to net zero.
Our four focus areas: Energy, Travel, Community & Youth, and Food & Farming reflect shared goals and local priorities. Explore each area to see how we’re working together for positive change, and how to get involved. You’ll also find a page showing how climate action connects everything we do.
Energy
Across the Forest of Dean, high energy prices and drafty buildings are crippling. FODCAP supports those working to address fuel poverty and create warmer homes through retrofitting and the development of local renewable energy generation.
Travel & Transport
FODCAP helps to coordinate work across the District to improve the sustainable travel options available to Forest of Dean residents, whether that’s better public transport, improved accessibility, car-share or active travel options.
Food & Farming
Building a resilient local food economy is key to meeting our net-zero and climate goals in the Forest. FODCAP supports initiatives like the Forest Food Network, an organisation which brings together local stakeholders to strengthen our local food system.
Connecting Climate Work
Connecting the climate work of local communities, businesses, and organisations is at the heart of everything FODCAP does.
